They're my favorite form of vacation, and I enjoy writing settings involving the luxuries of a cruise trip. A relaxing trip where all your needs are taken care of by attentive staff and you can forget all of your worries... what could be better? Besides taking a cruise trip with your loved ones, of course, enhancing the experience tenfold. I enjoy writing about how romantic relationships develop as well, and these two fit perfectly for vacation fiction.
I'm really bad at sticking to a single story.
Something that always inspires me to write: reading about other authors writing (and succeeding). I'm always up for a new manga series centering around a writer, or perhaps a series of blog posts detailing personal writing successes.
I first learned of cell phone novels through the manga Watashi ni XX Shinasai. I thought the idea was brilliant and set out to create my own. Unfortunately, I don't have a flip phone with the traditional number pad for input, but a smartphone, so the feel is different.
I also wish cell phone novels were as popular in English-speaking countries as they are in Japan. I'd love to have more novels to read and a larger fanbase to appeal to. Here's hoping that one day they catch on in North America and the U.K.
Outside of my stories, I enjoy tennis and music. I'm not too good at either, but they make great recreational activities. A practice match always clears my head, and composing piano pieces makes for fantastic novel inspiration moments.
Arranging to meet childhood friends on a luxury cruise. Then running into a devious ex-boyfriend and being stuck on the same ship for eleven days. To Marquise, the whole situation just seems absurd. ...More
