I started writing sci fi for my own satisfaction initially, so as to imaginatively live out the adventures of building and using systems based on my lifetime efforts to find ways to enable large scale use and habitation of nearby space in the near future using near-present technologies, but in unconventional configurations to get the job done, since my presentation of peer-reviewed technical papers on my concepts at space conferences had not gotten enthusiasm (no doubt because it would have obsoleted their current plans for aerospace, is only human nature, I suppose.) Writing the sci fi novels as part of the nanowrimo.org annual activity, I then went on to format them and have them published in paperback, and then modified into eBooks. Now I will see if this textnovel pathway will find some interest in those with a high tech sci fi interest; I plan on rewriting the stories into a form hopefully more compatible with this mode of reading.
My career was in electronics, worked for many corporations, usually in a hands-on engineering development capacity. But my childhood goal was to be a scientist and inventor. So I also have done volunteer work in the field of marine biology, doing grunt work in curating and documenting small crustacea specimens, and preparing data for use as online species identification purposes.
I have also done such volunteer things as helping publish a magazine on meditation, and helping decorate floats for the Rose Parade; but that does not seem significant here.
Long single again, I still have hopes for a woman in my life who shares some common interests.
