Chapter 156:- Sleepwalking
"He really didn't reply?"

I shook my head slowly.

"That jerk. He knows you'd be worried."

Misaki frowned as the glow of a McDonald's lit half of her face.

"I'm worried something might have happened.
He wouldn't suddenly ignore me like that.
He wouldn't do something behind my back either."

She sighed and gave me a tight smile.
We were wandering aimlessly along the street,
without going inside any of the shops.

"I'm sure he's fine. When we get back, you can kick his ass."

She said grimly.

I didn't reply,
my heart was busy contorting
and tying up into a knot,
buoyant on an open sea of pain,
pangs of mixed emotions
wedging through my body,
until I shivered.

I was certain he wasn't fine at all.

The fear inside had been gradually building up,
threatening to swallow me whole and pull me under.

I had a desperate urge to rush back on the train towards Tokyo.

Tomorrow I would have to call Aya-chan.
And my mother.

Please be okay, Shin.

Please be okay.
