Chapter 11:- Cold Shoulder
They ended up in the same taxi cab.
When they finally arrived at their street, Vanessa and Alex went different ways.
But not before swearing off any contact with the other.
Mentally, of course.
The next days pass.
And they pass.
And they pass some more.
And each day, they completely ignored each other.
There was no room for flames to flicker.
No chance for rumors to grow.
Everybody noticed. Everybody cared.
Everybody was silent.
Alex played as hard as he could at his competitions, followed by hordes of his fan girls.
Vanessa continued to work on the festival, continued to plan everything in the school.
And there was not even an argument to set their avid supporters chattering.
It eventually died out.
Because their cold shoulders were too cool to set the fire burning.
