Tanya felt like she had waited for this time her entire life.
As she stood with the chief examiner before her she knew that this was her only chance for a life of adventure and excitement.
As the youngest daughter of the queen, her future was all mapped out, should this avenue fail. The future set for her was far from interesting, or purposeful. She would be adviser to her eldest sister, the Queen in their matriarchal society.
The chief examiner was now looking at her appraisingly. The examiners looked at all applicants for physical deformities as well as the prescriptive features. All applicants must conform to a set description. This was both mental and physical. All must be of strong and sound mind, one must not suffer from any maladies. But most importantly they must have pale skin, but not albino; slender, but strong enough to complete a full day of work; raven hair and either blue or green eyes. These were the only qualifications.
As she looked down the line of applicants she noted a number sho would definitely be disqualified.
