Today is the start of the new school year; well it would have been if I was still in Japan. My name is Kira Myukio my parents sent me to America to live with my aunt, thinking it was too dangerous for me to live on my own as the traveled the world. I miss it back in Japan blossoms would be in bloom right now; oh how I miss them.

I was in my living room waiting for my boyfriend James Bauer to come meet me here so we can walk to school together. It was getting late. "I'm going to wait five more minutes for him." I told myself. When five minutes went by, I grabbed my book bag and opened the door to leave and there he was rubbing sleep out of his eyes.

"Hey you ready?" he looked at me with his sleepy eyes.

"Do you even know how late you are?" I closed the door behind me and walked pass him.

"Oh come on" he chased after me." You know I have problems waking up"

"Yea whatever." I walked off with at least 5 feet between us, I was silent the rest of the walk.

When we were half way to school Miguel Brown, James's best friend since middle school met up with us. James and I were both silent.

"Let me guess, James made you mad again." He patted James on the back.

"I can't help it if my brother plugs out my alarm." he ran up to catch up to me. He was walking backwards, trying to get my attention.

"If you fall I'm going to laugh." I stopped looking at him. I had a bad feeling something was going to happen. James kept on walking until he was in the middle of the street. I tried to walk towards him but my feet felt glued to the ground, I tried to speak but my mouth wouldn't open. All I could do is watch him and see what was going to happen next. Fear ran down my spine as I saw a dark cloud engulf him, it started at his ankles and went up to pass his thighs then his shoulders until James entire body was covered.

"Kira you ok?" Miguel came up to me, I couldn't reply. "Hey get out of the road!" he yelled. But it was too late for him to move, two cars were coming and the cloud was keeping him one place. It went by so fast but somehow I was able to see everything. The two cars that were coming, the drivers had the same cloud around them. He was too far for either of us to reach him in time; I already knew what was going to happen next.

"Get out of th..." those were the last thing I heard before they were drowned out by the loud

"CRASH!"
