Chapter 1:- Conversations with K: Our meeting on Skype 22.7.11
Dear K

Hope you don’t mind, I’m inspired. You take me back to when the journey began. Our conversation activated dormant details from dusty archives. I want to write it down, refine it , reflect on it. So next time someone asks, I can say—read my book.

Will you help me? If you read and respond, we can chronicle our journeys together. We could be a guide for others as well. I’m not a how-to kind of person. I don’t believe in expertise. Ultimately, life comes down to unique personal choices. Nobody knows anyone else’s life as well as their own. But people can share their stories, a bit of their knowledge of the paths along their way.

Personal contact is invaluable. Knowing you’re not alone, having someone you trust to reach out to is essential, even if you never make use of it.

I reach out to lots of friends. I am supported by friends from high school, and other phases of life. They know I am crazy; my mad capers never shock them. They accept me unconditionally, hold my hand emotionally, though most are scattered around the globe. We communicate, share ideas and our fears, strengthen and support each other.

When I was weak, someone else was strong. I was never afraid of falling through the net. I knew if I was hitting rock-bottom, I could ask for a loan. I knew if I was homeless, any number of people would take me in—provided I found the means to get to them. So I always had a train ticket somewhere, or money for a bus fare. That was important. I hate hitch-hiking.

I guess one of the first things you need for your journey is to have your plans B, C and D in place.

Don’t go out on a weak limb unless

a) you’re sure you can fly

b) you think there’s a good possibility you can fly

c) someone at the foot of the tree will catch you

d) there’s a net

e) the ground doesn’t look too far or too hard

f)you don’t mind bruises and broken bones

 g)you’re not afraid to die.

IN PEACE!
