Chapter 129:- Shunned
Mara felt the heat of her face rise. “Why did you say you thought you were invisible?” she asked. If only Judith would look away. Mara felt herself shrink under her gaze.
“That’s what it’s like to be shunned,” Judith explained. “People ignore you, they act as if you aren’t there. Why are you out here in the middle of a dirty, grassy, muddy, buggy, park when you’re supposed to be inside like a good sick person?”
“I’m not sick. And I’d gladly take being invisible over being injured!” Mara snipped. “I’d love to be invisible. Get away from people.”
