Chapter 13:- Nothing to report
Sister Tammy looked tired when she came through the door. She gave Mara the walkie-talkie and their shared taser, eager to leave. “Anything to report?” Mara asked. There never was, but it was protocol to ask.
“No,” Tammy replied, not even looking up from writing the date and time. “Nothing.” She brushed past Mara, lost to the call of home. Mara didn’t care for her—she was not a true believer. Mara holstered the taser and clipped the walkie-talkie to her belt. With a nod to the women at the desk, she turned on her heel. It was her turn.
