Chapter 16:- Heaven
Mountains of flowers piled against the chain-link fence long before Mara could see fully inside the courtyard. She extended a hand from her side, dragging it along the brick, thinking of how it would feel against the softness of millions of petals. The bushes moved into view, swaying with the wind. The corners of Mara’s mouth twitched. She had it all to herself. Stopping in front of a bush of blossoming pink flowers, she closed her eyes and inhaled. Paying attention to what her nose told her, she tried to separate the scent of each flower. This was her heaven.
