Chapter 24:- Exit
“Thank you, Sister….” The woman frowned. “I don’t know your name.”
Mara turned her face away. The woman’s friendliness was too much. She stepped back and muttered, “Mara.”
The woman put her hands on her hips. “Well now, Sister Mara. You’re not as bad as they say.”
Mara’s cheeks burned. “I have to go.”
The woman waved after her. “Nice finally meeting you.” Mara made a hasty exit around the side of the building, then slowed her pace to a crawl. No one but Father Garrison was so friendly. The thought of encountering the woman a second time scared her.
