Chapter 28:- Relief
When Sister Elizabeth came to relieve Mara, she gave away her walkie-talkie and taser as eagerly as Sister Tammy. Mara’s final circuit around the dorms prepared her for the chill in the air as she walked home. The route home took her past the same landmarks as her morning walk, passing the farmer’s market, fabric store, and even the church. She made her way to a one story renovated motel a few quiet blocks down. Mara felt a swell of pride when her home came into view. She lived with God’s chosen women, and it meant the world to her.
