Master Qualm and Grasshoppper:



Exists nothing, except for thought.


Then why are you so worried?


 


Not worried, but perplexed, Master.


Why do dung beetles exist?


  


Does not the dung beetle ask the same?


When us they contemplate and blame.


 


But Master, of power we have.


But, not they who delve in dung.


 


Can you not see from their view?


They work, and play, and laugh.


 


But, Master, in their plight,


I would never want to be.


 


Grasshopper:


 In your next life,


Would you rather be a tree?
