Chapter 3:- In the Write Place
Today was an exercise in being in the right place at the right time and talking to the right people. I think this is one of the main advantages a writer gets from attending a conference/convention. We got into DC, got a cab, and raced to the hotel (having survived NYC's Penn Station--not bad at all).
We got a snack with Lois Winston, author and literary agent (and all-around nice, professional woman) before we headed to the Goody Room (freebies!). The Goody Room was actually two rooms (two rooms of freebies!). Bookmarks, pins, CDs, pens, books, book covers...choc-o-late...
Then we got sucked into the crowd at the literacy signing--an RWA event open to the public and hosting (someone claimed) 500 authors. Don't know if it was a true headcount, but it felt like it...
