“Why?” I enquired, not even surprised that the statue of a long-forgotten god was talking to me.
“The day it is restored to the plinth is the day that Atlantis loses all chance of returning to the surface. Hey, don't blame me. When the gods deigned to make that rule and consign Atlantis to the deep, it wasn't with my consent. Like it ever is.”
“But if we fail in our quest, the surface lands will die. We have no choice but to fulfill our quest.”
