Chapter 5:- School Starts
High school. Huzzah. Who's excited?
I guess I was, in a way. School had started, so I barely had to deal with my parents. I tried to come home as late as I could, and they weren't around much, so it all worked out.
There’s really not much to say about the beginning of high school. I helped decorate the homecoming float, I had some pretty cool teachers (and good grades as usual), there was the high school robotics team, and the usual group of people who hate me. Actually, more accurately there is a small group of people who like me and the rest of the grade hates me. People gossip about me while I'm still in earshot, push me out of their way, steal my stuff. So annoying. If you want my backpack, it's all yours. Just make sure you do the homework in it.
And yah, I’m a nerd. So what? You're just stupid. I'd prefer my brain to yours. Who may I ask is passing biology here? Oh, I forgot. You're too stupid to even take biology this year. Too bad, huh? I'm going to be going to an Ivy League school; where do you think you’re going? Oh that's right. You think a D is a good grade. Not going anywhere I suppose. And my brains aren't good enough for my parents. How dare I get a 91 on a French test? That’s shameful. Make sure it never happens again. I have bruises that make pretty good motivation when I'm not in the mood to study my vocab list. At least my teachers appreciate my humor. The teachers at the high school are so much cooler than the middle school. I sit in the front and mutter sarcastic little comments about everything they say. Does anyone tell me to shut up? No. They joke along with me. A bit of sugar into my pie.
