The Good doctor waited in the lounge of the vessel on his way to the moon. He sat quietly and proudly in his warmed seat in the circlular booth in a dimly lit room, with a 360 degree panoramic view of the earth, the moon, and various space stations orbiting the earth and beyond. There were noises, and no one came to bother him. He was the ship's only passenger, apart from the full crew, who trained for years to work aboard the space ship. Upon the curved window to his right passing the earth, the blue-green glow entered the room, giving it an eerie sense of invasion, an unwanted feeling. His face grew displeased, and he leaned back and rested his weary eyes. The glow faded. When he opened his eyes a few moments later, he could see the tall gray tower jutting from the barren lunar scape, and the shadow made by the earth. He rose from his seat, strapped in, and floated effortlessly over to the window, pressing his hands against the ice cold glass. Though very close, the ship moved silent and slow through the empty venture, and it took about an hour more for the ship to finally land. Via underground tramway, the brown-gray haired middle-aged man deeper went into the facility, and took a small, bright lift upward into the tall tower before mentioned. It dinged, and the doors parted, opening into a white narrow expanse, a hallway allover white and steril. The workers, mostly scientists and astronauts, wore white body suits, and the doctor with his brown dress suit was most out-of place. He carried a brief-case, most heavy on earth, twice less the weight or thereabouts on the moon. He proceeded down the hall, to the very end where he took another lift, this one all the way to the top, where it stopped on floor 121. It opened, and he went down a silent hallway, also white and steril, to the second room on the right, and pressed his palm against the scanner to the right of the door. He was confirmed, and it opened with a loud chime. It said, fully automated, but hard to tell apart, "Welcome, Mister Secptyr." He entered a short but spacious room, with small brown tabled aligned in a boxy U, with a wooden podium above this "U", and two flags (The Star Space Flag, and the Lunar Government Flag) behind that. The carpet is a bright red, and the walls are black, along with a mirror ceiling. In each corner, are metal pillars shooting light upwards, which reflects on the ceiling. All seated, there are several men, about twenty five total, including the doctor who sat down near his old friend, Lunar Senator Takanawa, near the podium. A photographer took pictures behind them, and left after a few seconds. At the very opposite the podium, across the room, is a small film camera, taking in all that happened. The men clapped, and the Senator was called to the stand.
"Now, my good men, here is the day we hope to make our human history. It is with great pleasure that I call forward my close friend, Harold William Secptyr, who hopes to make space a better place for us all. Harold, if you will...," he said, and backed away to his seat. The doctor stood and walked over to the podium, with applause.
"Yes, as my friend, I do hope to make space a better place. It is with great pride, I introduce my study, to build a vessel capable of supporting humans in space for many lifetimes, and we are closing in on the technology to do just that," he pulled out a blueprint of a ship, "We have the makings of a fine, large ship, but we need supplies and a power source. I suggest, we use East Asian Space-Ship Incorporated for the ship body, Isac Nelson's Technologies for the engine and power sources, and Belca-Space for the regenerating supplies technology. With their help, we could make this a reality. I am here today to ask your permission to build the ship here on the Moon, as it would be easier with minimal gravity. May I take a vote gentlemen? Nay?"
No hands raised.
"Yes?"
All hands raised.
