Best friends, Nora Sanders and Belle Kamar were walking home from school. School had let out a few hours early because of a horrible snow storm; and because it was the day before Christmas Eve. While Nora and Belle walked home in the crisp new snow they came across two reindeer in the middle of the sidewalk.
"What are these? Caribu?" Belle pondered. Nora walked up to the reindeer. They both had tags around their necks and saddles on their backs. She picked up one of the tags, ingraved in fancy script was the name Blitzen. Belle walked over to the other reindeer and read the other name tag, Prancer.
"How cute. They are named after those famous reindeer. You know the ones Santa was supposed to have," Belle exclaimed and petted Prancer.
"I know," Nora replied and rested her cell phone on the fence post across from the reindeer.
"Nora, what are you doing?" Belle asked and watched as Nora grabbed the reins.
"Come on Belle! I'm going to take a picture of us on the reindeer," Nora explained. Belle hesitantly grabbed the reins and both girls pulled themselves up onto the reindeer just as the flash went off of Nora's phone. But the flash wasn't the camera on her phone, it was the snow whipping at their faces as the reindeer plumeted to their home in the North Pole.
