After class, I was able to meet with my teacher and the headmaster of the school. I asked them whether it was possible for me to get a tutor, to get ahead in my studies. Instead of going to class and going on the upcoming field trips, I would get extra lessons and sit the end of the year exams in December, when everyone took those of the second trimester.
"It'll require a lot of effort on your part." the headmaster warned me. I nodded.
"I know. But I have family obligations, but I still need to graduate from High School." I replied.
"Then, when do you plan to take lessons?" he asked.
"I'm hoping to arrange after-school lessons, and perhaps also on mornings during which I wouldn't normally have class." I replied.
"And the rest of the time?" He asked again.
"I'll be working at a part-time job to help my family." I answered.
He did make clear that although the lessons would be at school, I needed to pay the tutoring fees. These, would 'of course' be higher.
I already knew this, and calculated everything. Snce school fees were paid each trimester, I didn't worry too much. The fees I would normally have to pay for the third trimester, would just be used for the tutoring instead.
My teacher agreed to be my tutor. Afterall, he would know best where we left off last class, and what would be tought this year.
This way, I could get a High School diploma, get a part-time job to save some money, and take care of Ryo. The only downside I saw at this point was that any free time that I had, would be taken up by studying. I had to make sure to get a passing grade on the exam.
Before heading to my job at the small cafe, I decided to go to the small store not far from the hangout. I'd noticed on my way to school, that they needed new employees.
I decided to have a look, because it was difficult for me to work at the cafe. I still easily got sick at the smell of coffee. It wasn't as bad as the day I discovered I was pregnant. But it still made things difficult.
Working at that 24/7 type store would be convenient, because hours would probably be more flexible, and I wouldn't have to endure the smell of coffee.
Hopefully, I would get the job. Then I would quit working at the cafe, and with the extra time I had, I would go see Dr. Ashizumi.
