The connecting door bursts open. A werewolf, dressed as a businesswoman, leaps onto my accuser and ferociously slashes at her head and neck. While a bear, also clad in business fashion, rushes in behind her and lands four-square on the businessman. Blood is added to the stains and marks on the carpet.
The wild frenzy is over within seconds. The bear and the wolf stand dazed, uncomprehending, their clothes ripped and scuffed. While they do so, within a minute, they become human.
With no other card in the deck, I play a hunch and use my hypnotic voice. “Return to your seats and forget about what has happened.” They trot out, and I disembark at the next station, hunger gnawing at my stomach.
On the street I see the Moon, low in the western sky, and realize that it's in the first quarter. I get it. The rather stylish belt gives me control of were-beings. Let's see where that can take me.
