Chapter 2:- Unknowing
Nothing.
There was nothing around me. I was sitting in a circle of dirt. Weirdly enough, it was a perfectly shaped circle. Around the circle I saw trees and plants, but nothing else. There were no houses, no trails, or anything like that. It was just a vast sea of trees.
The trees were humongous. Their branches extended all the way to the center of the circle. I didn't know trees like these existed. They looked odd with all their different colors and their glowing. I spun around in a circle staring at the trees in awe. They were beautiful. Nothing like home.
I teared my eyes away from the trees and studied the circle I was in. It was huge. At least twenty meters in diameter. I, I realized after looking at the circle some more, was standing exactly in the middle of it. Kind of weird, I thought. The edge of the circle was surrounded by grass. The tips of the grass were burnt which I looked at curiously for a while trying to get my mind off of things that might make me start to panic. Like where I was. Why I was here.
'Crunch, Crunch'
At first I didn't notice the noise. I was too busy studying the burnt grass and trying not to think too much. So I didn't notice.
I didn't notice the sound of twigs cracking or branches breaking.
I didn't notice the sound of it moving towards me.
Then I did.
