Chapter 1:- Breakup Complete
“Kelly…Kell come on, we’ve been together for practically all of college! Can’t we just work things out?”
Kelly sighed. It was the first day after college ended and she was spending it trying to explain to her ex that they would not get back together. They were sitting at a small table at a locally owned coffee shop currently, and Kelly was seriously considering getting a muffin to go and leaving him to bug some other girl in the place.
“We’ve been on and off all of college. And off since you cheated on me for the second time!”
“Hey I told you, Amber kissed me first!”
Kelly laughed bitterly. “Oh yeah, and I’m sure you kissed her back because you didn’t want to be rude by pushing her away.”
“Well yeah! I mean you know me Kell, have I ever been disrespectful or rude to any girl, especially you?” Kelly rolled her eyes and took a long sip of her cappuccino before she responded.
“Look Justin, this is the first time I actually have freedom. No school, no parents, no overprotective parents, no annoying sisters. And I don’t want to start off my new born freedom while being tied down with a guy that doesn’t even really care about me!” Justin sighed and started playing with the sugar packets on the table, frustrated. After scrunching his face in vexation he put down the packets and looked up at Kelly, his face showing no desperateness anymore.
“Fine, if that’s what you want…fine.” And with that he sternly got out of his chair and headed towards the door of the coffee shop. “Have a nice life Kelly Gallagher,” he mumbled, with a bit of edge to his tone. Kelly watched him leave and smiled slightly as she heard the quiet ring of the bells on the door, signalling his absence. Ever since he cheated on her for the first time with his ex-girlfriend she wanted to break up with him, but felt too involved and connected to him to actually end their relationship. But now that college was over she no longer had a reason to stay with him when they would soon be going their separate ways.
