Chapter 1:- What about three?
The paper was covered with pictures drawn by Keara.
"How do you spell one?" she asked her Grandma.
"o-n-e" said Grandma
"How do you spell two?" asked Keara.
"t-w-o" said Grandma
"How do you spell four?" she asked.
"What about three?" asked Grandma.
"I don't want to do three yet, how do you spell four?" Keara asked again.
"f-o-u-r" said Grandma.
"How do you spell five?" Keara asked next.
"What about three?" asked Grandma.
"I don't want to write three yet, how do you spell five?" Keara wanted to know.
"f-i-v-e" said Grandma.
"How do you spell six?" said Keara.
What about three?" asked Grandma
"I don't want to write three yet. How do you spell six?" she asked.
"s-i-x" answered Grandma.
Just then something strange happened! Keara and Grandma heard a voice ask, "What about three?"
Grandma and Keara looked around but all they saw was a three legged stool. The stool again said, "What about three? I have three legs in which I stand."
Keara and Grandma just looked at each other.
Then the triangle Keara had drawn on the paper said, "What about three? I have three sides! That's what makes me a triangle."
Then Keara and Grandma heard yet another voice say, "What about three?"
They looked around and realized the tricycle had spoken. "What about three? I have three wheels so children can have lots of safe riding fun!"
Keara and Grandma didn't know what to say so they went for a walk.
No sooner had they gotten outside when they heard a voice from a tree say, "What about three?" they looked up and saw a three-toed sloth. Again the sloth said, "What about three? I have three claws on each foot that help me hang upside down in the tree."
Keara and Grandma shrugged their shoulders and walked on. They heard three voices this time say, "What about three?" Keara and Grandma turned around and saw Allie, Audrey, and Allison friends of Keara's who were triplets.
"What about three?" said the girls. "We were all born at the same time, we are triplets!"
Keara said, "Three is more important than I thought! I never knew there were so many things made of three!"
